I am a passionate designer hell bent on contributing my verse to the powerful play of design.
With over a decade of experience designing complex enterprise tools, from IDEs and FX payment platforms to industrial machine interfaces and satellite mission planning software, I focus on making technical products usable at scale. I have a particular passion for modernizing legacy systems, finding clever, inventive solutions within rigid technical constraints and entrenched workflows. I've been the sole designer driving product direction, embedded in cross-functional squads, and a mentor to junior designers.
My background in industrial design gives me a strong foundation in systems thinking and physical constraints, which carries directly into how I approach digital product work. I partner closely with engineering and product leadership to frame the right problems, validate assumptions through research and testing, and ship solutions that hold up under real-world complexity.
I don't subscribe to any single design process, I prefer to take what the defense gives me. Some projects call for full design thinking with user observation, journey mapping, and prototype testing. Others require leaning heavily on SMEs and client input to move forward. Ideally, I'm running a research-driven process from end to end, but business reality demands flexibility, and I know how to tailor my approach to whatever the constraints require while still delivering thoughtful, well-reasoned solutions.
What I bring to the table...
I'm at my best when I'm solving problems across boundaries. I've presented directly to clients and stakeholders throughout my career, often selling a design direction, not just presenting one. I work fast and wide, bringing multiple solutions to the table ranging from the safe and proven to something nobody's considered yet. A former manager once said he was always impressed by my ability to create new concepts out of whole cloth, but speed doesn't come at the expense of rigor. My solutions are grounded in user needs and built to be intuitive. I've mentored junior designers and helped managers build out software teams from scratch, including establishing team structure at State Street. I understand how healthy product teams operate and what it takes to ship on time. I also don't take myself too seriously. Design is hard work, but it doesn't have to be grim.

Beyond Design
When I'm not designing, you can find me cooking, taking photographs, tinkering with cars, making hot sauce and jam (jam sesh), writing and talking about current events.
